Ecology and More!

Ecology and More!

The Ecology Zone is open on specific days throughout the summer holidays ONLY.

This year the Ecology Zone will be showcasing the best of the activiies presented over the years in memory of Richard Sheen who developed the Ecology Zone. We will be highlighting the extraordinary talents of Richard and how his flare and hard work made the Ecology Zone very special. Richard lost his brave battle against cancer early this year and he will be sadly missed by us all. His legacy will live on in the many activities Richard developed for the Centre.

Inside the Ecology Zone, which you can visit at any time between 11am and 4pm there will be things to draw and colour, you will be able to make a beautiful felt butterfly mosaic and you will be able to look at intriguing insects through a microscope. We also have some fascinating displays to show the different types of habitats in the county together with information about where you can see the diverse plant and animal life. For those interested in the geology that helped to create the different habitats there is information about the 'Wealden Dome' and detailed geology maps of the county.

There is NO extra charge for this activity. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times. These activities may change at short notice.
